³¹ The mouth of the righteous one—it bears the fruit of wisdom,+ but the tongue of perverseness will be cut off.+

³⁰ The fruitage of the righteous one is a tree of life,+ and he that is winning souls is wise.+

¹⁸ However, the things proceeding out of the mouth come out of the heart, and those things defile a man.+

²⁹ Let a rotten saying not proceed out of YOUR mouth,+ but whatever saying is good for building up as the need may be, that it may impart what is favorable to the hearers.+

⁶ Well, the tongue is a fire.+ The tongue is constituted a world of unrighteousness among our members, for it spots up all the body+ and sets the wheel of natural life aflame and it is set aflame by Ge·hen′na.*
