¹⁰ For forty years I kept feeling a loathing toward [that]* generation,+

And I proceeded to say:

“They are a people wayward at heart,+

And they themselves have not come to know my ways”;+

¹⁴ YOUR new moons and YOUR festal seasons my soul has hated.+ To me they have become a burden;+ I have become tired of bearing [them].+

¹³ “And this is the second thing that YOU people do, [this resulting in] covering with tears the altar of Jehovah, with weeping and sighing, so that there is no more a turning toward the gift offering or a taking of pleasure [in anything] from YOUR hand.+
