¹¹ Not what enters into [his] mouth defiles a man; but it is what proceeds out of [his] mouth that defiles a man.”+

²⁸ and he said to them: “YOU well know how unlawful it is for a Jew to join himself to or approach a man of another race;+ and yet God has shown me I should call no man defiled or unclean.+

¹⁴ I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is defiled in itself;+ only where a man considers something to be defiled, to him it is defiled.+

⁴ The reason for this is that every creation of God is fine,+ and nothing is to be rejected+ if it is received with thanksgiving,+

¹⁵ All things are clean to clean [persons].+ But to [persons] defiled+ and faithless+ nothing is clean, but both their minds and their consciences+ are defiled.
