⁹ “Only watch out for yourself and take good care of your soul,+ that you may not forget the things that your eyes have seen+ and that they may not depart from your heart all the days of your life;+ and you must make them known to your sons and to your grandsons,*+

⁷ and you must inculcate them in your son+ and speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down+ and when you get up.

²⁰ “In case your son should ask you in a future day,+ saying, ‘What do the testimonies and the regulations and the judicial decisions mean that Jehovah our God has commanded YOU?’

² so as to pay attention to wisdom with your ear,+ that you may incline your heart to discernment;+

⁵ The Sovereign Lord Jehovah himself has opened my ear, and I, for my part, was not rebellious.+ I did not turn in the opposite direction.+
