38 “Look! The days are coming,” declares Jehovah, “when the city will be built+ to Jehovah from the Tower of Ha·nanʹel+ to the Corner Gate.+ 39 And the measuring line+ will go out straight ahead to the hill of Gaʹreb, and it will turn toward Goʹah.

2 By means of visions from God, he brought me to the land of Israel and set me down on a very high mountain,+ on which there was a structure like a city to the south.

3 When he brought me there, I saw a man whose appearance was like that of copper.+ He had a flax cord and a measuring reed* in his hand,+ and he was standing in the gateway.

2 And I looked up and saw a man with a measuring line+ in his hand. 2 So I asked: “Where are you going?”

He replied: “To measure Jerusalem, to see what is her width and what is her length.”+
