8 Aʹhaz then took the silver and the gold that was to be found at the house of Jehovah and in the treasuries of the king’s house* and sent the king of As·syrʹi·a a bribe.+

16 At that time Hez·e·kiʹah removed* the doors of the temple+ of Jehovah and the doorposts that King Hez·e·kiʹah of Judah himself had overlaid,*+ and he gave them to the king of As·syrʹi·a.
