Psalms
(Of the Director; to the Gittith. A psalm of David’s.)
8 Jehovah, our Lord, how grand is your name throughout the earth, you whose majesty reaches above the sky,
2 Who out of the mouths of children at play and babies at the breast have laid a foundation of might
on account of those who are foes to you, to put a stop to enemy and avenger!
3 When I see your sky, the work of your fingers,
moon and stars that you have set,
4 What is man that you should remember him,
any of humankind that you should attend to him?
5 And you have made him little short of God,
with state and glory you crown him,
6 And have given him rule over the works of your hands,
have placed everything under his feet,
7 Sheep and cattle all,
beasts of the wilds too;
8 Bird of air and fish of sea,
those that traverse fluid paths.
9 Jehovah our Lord, how grand is your name throughout the earth!
