2 Corinthians

10 Αὐτὸς Very (one) δὲ but ἐγὼ I Παῦλος Paul παρακαλῶ I am entreating ὑμᾶς YOU διὰ through τῆς the πραΰτητος mildness καὶ and ἐπιεικίας yieldingness τοῦ of the χριστοῦ, Christ, ὃς who κατὰ according to πρόσωπον face μὲν indeed ταπεινὸς lowly ἐν in ὑμῖν, YOU, ἀπὼν being absent δὲ but θαρρῶ I am of good courage εἰς into ὑμᾶς· YOU; 2 δέομαι I am supplicating δὲ but τὸ the μὴ not παρὼν being alongside θαρρῆσαι to be of good courage τῇ to the πεποιθήσει confidence ᾗ to which λογίζομαι I am reckoning τολμῆσαι to be daring ἐπί upon τινας some τοὺς the (ones) λογιζομένους reckoning ἡμᾶς us ὡς as κατὰ according to σάρκα flesh περιπατοῦντας. walking about. 3 ᾿Εν In σαρκὶ flesh γὰρ for περιπατοῦντες walking οὐ not κατὰ according to σάρκα flesh στρατευόμεθα,— we are doing military service,— 4 τὰ the γὰρ for ὅπλα weapons τῆς of the στρατείας military service ἡμῶν of us οὐ not σαρκικὰ fleshly ἀλλὰ but δυνατὰ powerful τῷ to the θεῷ God πρὸς toward καθαίρεσιν taking down ὀχυρωμάτων,— of strongholds,— 5 λογισμοὺς reckonings καθαιροῦντες (ones) taking down καὶ and πᾶν every ὕψωμα lofty (thing) ἐπαιρόμενον lifting self up upon κατὰ down on τῆς the γνώσεως knowledge τοῦ of the θεοῦ, God, καὶ and αἰχμαλωτίζοντες (ones) taking captive πᾶν every νόημα thought εἰς into τὴν the ὑπακοὴν obedience τοῦ of the χριστοῦ, Christ, 6 καὶ and ἐν in ἑτοίμῳ readiness ἔχοντες having ἐκδικῆσαι to avenge πᾶσαν every παρακοήν, disobedience, ὅταν whenever πληρωθῇ might be fulfilled ὑμῶν of YOU ἡ the ὑπακοή. obedience.

7 Τὰ The (things) κατὰ according to πρόσωπον face βλέπετε. 13 ἡμεῖς We δὲ but οὐκ not εἰς into τὰ the (things) ἄμετρα unmeasured καυχησόμεθα, we shall boast, ἀλλὰ but κατὰ according to τὸ the μέτρον measure τοῦ of the κανόνος (measuring) reed οὗ of which ἐμέρισεν gave as part ἡμῖν to us ὁ the θεὸς God μέτρου, of measure, ἐφικέσθαι to come upon ἄχρι until καὶ also ὑμῶν·— of YOU;— 14 οὐ not γὰρ for ὡς as μὴ not ἐφικνούμενοι (ones) coming upon εἰς into ὑμᾶς YOU ὑπερεκτείνομεν we are overstretching out ἑαυτούς, selves, ἄχρι until γὰρ for καὶ also ὑμῶν of YOU ἐφθάσαμεν we came ahead ἐν in τῷ the εὐαγγελίῳ good news τοῦ of the χριστοῦ·— Christ;— 15 οὐκ not εἰς into τὰ the (things) ἄμετρα unmeasured καυχώμενοι (ones) boasting ἐν in ἀλλοτρίοις belonging to another κόποις, labors, ἐλπίδα hope δὲ but ἔχοντες (ones) having αὐξανομένης of (one) increasing τῆς of the πίστεως faith ὑμῶν of YOU ἐν in ὑμῖν YOU μεγαλυνθῆναι to be made great κατὰ according to τὸν the κανόνα (measuring) reed ἡμῶν of us εἰς into περισσείαν, abundance, 16 εἰς into τὰ the [regions] ὑπερέκεινα beyond those [parts] ὑμῶν of YOU εὐαγγελίσασθαι, to declare good news, οὐκ not ἐν in ἀλλοτρίῳ belonging to another κανόνι (measuring) reed εἰς into τὰ the (things) ἕτοιμα ready καυχήσασθαι. to boast. 17 Ὁ The δὲ but καυχώμενος (one) boasting ἐν in Κυρίῳ Lord καυχάσθω· let him be boasting; 18 οὐ not γὰρ for ὁ the (one) ἑαυτὸν himself συνιστάνων, putting in standing with, ἐκεῖνός that (one) ἐστιν is δόκιμος, approved, ἀλλὰ but ὃν whom ὁ the κύριος Lord συνίστησιν. is putting in standing with.
