4 The land has gone to mourning,+ has faded away. The productive land* has withered, has faded away. The high ones of the people of the land have withered.+

7 “For nation will rise* against nation+ and kingdom against kingdom,+ and there will be food shortages+ and earthquakes+ in one place after another.

11 But a famine came upon the whole of Egypt and Caʹnaan, even a great tribulation; and our forefathers were not finding any provisions.+

28 One of them named Agʹa·bus+ rose and proceeded to indicate through the spirit that a great famine was about to come upon the entire inhabited earth;+ which, for that matter, did take place in the time of Claudius.
