6 Be courageous and strong,+ for you are the one who will cause this people to inherit+ the land that I swore to their forefathers to give to them.+

18 Jehovah now said to Joshua: “Stretch out the javelin* that is in your hand toward Aʹi,+ for into your hand I shall give it.”+ Accordingly Joshua stretched out the javelin that was in his hand toward the city.

14 Upon that Jehovah* faced him and said: “Go in this power of yours,+ and you will certainly save Israel out of Midʹi·an’s palm.+ Do I not send you?”+

32 So Jephʹthah passed along to the sons of Amʹmon to fight against them, and Jehovah proceeded to give them into his hand.
