13 And he began to say to Aʹbram: “You may know for sure that your seed will become an alien resident in a land not theirs,+ and they will have to serve them, and these will certainly afflict them for four hundred years.+

7 And Jehovah added: “Unquestionably I have seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their outcry as a result of those who drive them to work; because I well know the pains they suffer.+

15 And our fathers proceeded to go down to Egypt,+ and we continued to dwell in Egypt many days;+ and the Egyptians began doing harm to us and our fathers.+

6 And the Egyptians went treating us badly and afflicting us and putting hard slavery upon us.+

34 I have certainly seen the wrongful treatment of my people who are in Egypt,+ and I have heard their groaning+ and I have come down to deliver them.+ And now come, I will send you off to Egypt.’+
