15 And it came about that Pharʹaoh showed obstinacy toward sending us away,+ and Jehovah* proceeded to kill every firstborn in the land of Egypt,+ from the firstborn of man to the firstborn of beast.+ That is why I am sacrificing to Jehovah all the males that open the womb,+ and every firstborn of my sons I redeem.’+
