9 The formers of the carved image are all of them an unreality,+ and their darlings* themselves will be of no benefit;+ and as their witnesses* they see nothing and know nothing,+ in order that they may be ashamed.+

20 But the rest of the men who were not killed by these plagues did not repent of the works of their hands,+ so that they should not worship the demons+ and the idols of gold and silver+ and copper and stone and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk;+
