27 And you must render up your burnt offerings,+ the flesh and the blood,+ upon the altar of Jehovah your God; and the blood of your sacrifices should be poured out against the altar of Jehovah+ your God, but the flesh you may eat.
11 Later on the other sons of Israel heard+ it said: “Look! The sons of Reuʹben and the sons of Gad and the half tribe of Ma·nasʹseh have built an altar on the frontier of the land of Caʹnaan in the regions of the Jordan on the side belonging to the sons of Israel.”
28 Consequently the king took counsel+ and made two golden calves+ and said to the people:* “It is too much for YOU to go up to Jerusalem. Here is your God,*+ O Israel, that brought you up out of the land of Egypt.”+
