2 And Saul proceeded to choose for himself three thousand men out of Israel; and two thousand came to be with Saul at Michʹmash+ and in the mountainous region of Bethʹel, and a thousand proved to be with Jonʹa·than+ at Gibʹe·ah+ of Benjamin, and the rest of the people he sent away, each one to his tent.*
