16 “Tomorrow about this time I shall send to you a man from the land of Benjamin,+ and you must anoint+ him as leader over my people Israel; and he must save my people from the hand of the Phi·lisʹtines,+ because I have seen [the affliction of] my people,* for their outcry has come to me.”+

10 Samuel then took the flask+ of oil and poured it out upon his head and kissed+ him and said: “Is it not because Jehovah* has anointed you as a leader+ over his inheritance?+

6 Hence he said to his men: “It is unthinkable, on my part, from Jehovah’s standpoint, that I should do this thing to my lord, the anointed*+ of Jehovah, by thrusting out my hand against him, for he is the anointed of Jehovah.”+

14 Then David said to him: “How was it that you did not fear+ to thrust your hand out to bring the anointed*+ of Jehovah to ruin?”

27 Even so, both Herod and Pontius Pilate+ with [men of] nations and with peoples of Israel were in actuality gathered together in this city against your holy+ servant Jesus, whom you anointed,*+

38 namely, Jesus who was from Nazʹa·reth, how God anointed him with holy spirit+ and power, and he went through the land doing good and healing all those oppressed by the Devil;+ because God was with him.+
