5 Consequently Jehovah gave Israel a savior,+ so that they came out from under the hand of Syria, and the sons of Israel continued to dwell in their homes* as formerly.+
20 “Is Eʹphra·im a precious son to me, or a fondly treated child?+ For to the extent of my speaking against him I shall without fail remember him further.+ That is why my intestines have become boisterous for him.+ By all means I shall have pity upon him,”+ is the utterance of Jehovah.
7 But to the house of Judah I shall show mercy,+ and I will save them by Jehovah their God;*+ but I shall not save them by a bow or by a sword or by war, by horses or by horsemen.”+
