28 Now men, Midʹi·an·ite merchants,+ went passing by. Hence they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the waterpit+ and then sold Joseph to the Ishʹma·el·ites for twenty silver pieces.+ Eventually these brought Joseph into Egypt.

36 However, the Midʹi·an·ites sold him into Egypt to Potʹi·phar a court official of Pharʹaoh,*+ the chief of the bodyguard.+

5 But now do not feel hurt+ and do not be angry with yourselves because YOU sold me here; because for the preservation of life God has sent me ahead of YOU.+

20 As for YOU, YOU had evil in mind against me. God had it in mind for good for the purpose of acting as at this day to preserve many people alive.+

9 And the family heads became jealous+ of Joseph and sold him into Egypt.+ But God was with him,+
