17 But the remainder of it he actually makes into a god itself, into his carved image. He prostrates himself to it and bows down and prays to it and says: “Deliver me, for you are my god.”+
3 For the customs* of the peoples+ are just an exhalation, because it is a mere tree+ out of the forest that one has cut down, the work of the hands of the craftsman with the billhook.+
26 Also, YOU behold and hear how not only in Ephʹe·sus+ but in nearly all the [district of] Asia this Paul has persuaded a considerable crowd and turned them to another opinion, saying that the ones that are made by hands+ are not gods.
