1 And after the death+ of Joshua it came about that the sons of Israel proceeded to inquire+ of Jehovah, saying: “Who of us will go up first to the Caʹnaan·ites to fight against them?”

14 And David was continually acting prudently+ in all his ways, and Jehovah was with him.+

6 For by skillful direction you will carry on your war,+ and in the multitude of counselors there is salvation.+

31 Or what king, marching to meet another king in war, does not first sit down and take counsel whether he is able with ten thousand troops to cope with the one that comes against him with twenty thousand?+
