12 Why should the Egyptians+ say, ‘With evil intent he brought them out in order to kill them among the mountains and to exterminate them from the surface of the ground’?+ Turn from your burning anger+ and feel regret+ over the evil against your people.

13 But Moses said to Jehovah: “Then the Egyptians will be bound to hear that you by your power have led this people up out of their midst.+

28 for fear the land*+ out of which you brought us may say: “Because Jehovah was unable to bring them into the land that he had promised them, and because he hated them he brought them out to put them to death in the wilderness.”+

9 And the Caʹnaan·ites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear of it, and they will certainly surround us and cut our name off from the earth;+ and what will you do for your great name?”+

22 For Jehovah will not desert+ his people for the sake of his great name,+ because Jehovah has taken it upon himself to make YOU his people.+
