22 His own errors will catch the wicked one,*+ and in the ropes of his own sin he will be taken hold of.+

6 because we know that our old personality* was impaled with [him],+ that our sinful body* might be made inactive,+ that we should no longer go on being slaves to sin.+

16 Do YOU not know that if YOU keep presenting yourselves to anyone as slaves to obey him, YOU are slaves of him because YOU obey him,+ either of sin+ with death in view+ or of obedience+ with righteousness+ in view?

14 For we know that the Law is spiritual;+ but I am fleshly, sold under sin.+

19 While they are promising them freedom,+ they themselves are existing as slaves of corruption.+ For whoever is overcome by another is enslaved by this one.*+
