29 Then Joseph had his chariot made ready and went up to meet Israel his father at Goʹshen.+ When he appeared to him he at once fell upon his neck and gave way to tears upon his neck again and again.+

5 And you must answer and say before Jehovah your God, ‘My father was a perishing Syrian;*+ and he proceeded to go down to Egypt+ and to reside there as an alien with very few in number;+ but there he became a great nation, mighty and numerous.+
