11 “‘I caused an overthrow among YOU people, like God’s* overthrow of Sodʹom and Go·morʹrah.+ And YOU came to be like a log snatched out of [the] burning;+ but YOU did not come back to me,’+ is the utterance of Jehovah.

2 Then [the angel+ of] Jehovah* said to Satan: “Jehovah rebuke+ you, O Satan, yes, Jehovah rebuke you, he who is choosing Jerusalem!+ Is this one not a log snatched out of the fire?”+

8 If, then, your hand or your foot is making you stumble, cut it off and throw it away from you;+ it is finer for you to enter into life maimed or lame than to be thrown with two hands or two feet into the everlasting fire.+
