8 Judah then urged Israel his father: “Send the boy with me,+ and let us go on our way so that we may live and not die+—we and you and our children.+ 9 I will be a guarantee for his safety.*+ You may hold me responsible. If I fail to return him to you and present him to you, I will have sinned against you for all time.

28 Jacob sent Judah+ ahead to tell Joseph that he was on the way to Goʹshen. When they came into the land of Goʹshen,+
