11 Then Moses appealed to* Jehovah his God+ and said: “Why, O Jehovah, should you turn your burning anger against your people after bringing them out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?+ 12 Why should the Egyptians say, ‘He had evil intentions when he led them out. He wanted to kill them in the mountains and exterminate them from the surface of the earth’?+ Turn from your burning anger and reconsider* your decision to bring this calamity on your people.

9 She said to the men: “I do know that Jehovah will give you the land+ and that the fear of you has fallen upon us.+ All the inhabitants of the land are disheartened because of you,+ 10 for we heard how Jehovah dried up the waters of the Red Sea before you when you left Egypt+ and what you did to the two kings of the Amʹor·ites, Siʹhon+ and Og,+ whom you devoted to destruction on the other side* of the Jordan.

3 The inhabitants of Gibʹe·on+ also heard what Joshua had done to Jerʹi·cho+ and Aʹi.+

9 At this they said to him: “Your servants have come from a very distant land+ out of regard for the name of Jehovah your God, because we have heard about his fame and about all he did in Egypt+

7 The Phi·lisʹtines became afraid, for they said: “God has come into the camp!”+ So they said: “Too bad for us, for nothing like this has ever happened before! 8 Too bad for us! Who will save us from the hand of this majestic God? This is the God who struck Egypt with every sort of slaughter in the wilderness.+
