19 Then they said to him: “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered: “You know neither me nor my Father.+ If you did know me, you would know my Father also.”+

20 Keep in mind the word I said to you: A slave is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you;+ if they have observed my word, they will also observe yours. 21 But they will do all these things against you on account of my name, because they do not know the One who sent me.+

2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God,+ but not according to accurate knowledge.

8 It is this wisdom that none of the rulers of this system of things* came to know,+ for if they had known it, they would not have executed* the glorious Lord.
