19 So the boundary of the Caʹnaan·ites was from Siʹdon as far as Geʹrar,+ near Gazʹa,+ as far as Sodʹom, Go·morʹrah,+ Adʹmah, and Ze·boiʹim,+ near Laʹsha.

38 From before you he drove away nations greater and mightier than you, to bring you in and give you their land as an inheritance, as it is today.+

4 Your territory will extend from the wilderness up to Lebʹa·non and to the great river, the Eu·phraʹtes—all the land of the Hitʹtites+—and to the Great Sea* on the west.*+

14 Now this is what the Israelites took as an inheritance in the land of Caʹnaan, which El·e·aʹzar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun and the heads of the paternal houses of the tribes of Israel gave them to inherit.+

19 And I thought, ‘How I placed you among the sons and gave you the desirable land, the most beautiful inheritance among the nations!’*+ I also thought that you would call me, ‘My Father!’ and that you would not turn away from following me.

26 And he made out of one man+ every nation of men to dwell on the entire surface of the earth,+ and he decreed the appointed times and the set limits of where men would dwell,+
