13 Jehovah your God you should fear,+ and him you should serve,+ and by his name you should swear.+

15 Now if it seems bad to you to serve Jehovah, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve,+ whether the gods that your forefathers served on the other side of the River*+ or the gods of the Amʹor·ites in whose land you are dwelling.+ But as for me and my household, we will serve Jehovah.”

8 In reply Jesus said to him: “It is written, ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’”*+
