8 A·bishʹai now said to David: “Today God has surrendered your enemy into your hand.+ And now, please, let me pin him to the ground with the spear just once, and I will not need to do it twice.” 9 However, David said to A·bishʹai: “Do not harm him, for who can lift his hand against the anointed of Jehovah+ and remain innocent?”+

29 Hez·e·kiʹah+ became king at the age of 25, and he reigned for 29 years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was A·biʹjah the daughter of Zech·a·riʹah.+ 2 He kept doing what was right in Jehovah’s eyes,+ just as David his forefather had done.+
