18 Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted;+

He saves those who are crushed in spirit.*+

 3 He heals the brokenhearted;

He binds up their wounds.

61 The spirit of the Sovereign Lord Jehovah is upon me,+

Because Jehovah anointed me to declare good news to the meek.+

He sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives

And the wide opening of the eyes to the prisoners,+

 2 “My own hand has made all these things,

And this is how they all came to be,” declares Jehovah.+

“To this one, then, I will look,

To the one humble and broken in spirit who trembles at* my word.+
