18 “Look! We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be handed over to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death+ 19 and hand him over to men of the nations to be mocked and scourged and executed on a stake;+ and on the third day he will be raised up.”+

3 In the 15th year of the reign of Ti·beʹri·us Caesar,* when Pontius Pilate+ was governor of Ju·deʹa, Herod+ was district ruler of Galʹi·lee, Philip his brother was district ruler of the country of It·u·raeʹa and Trach·o·niʹtis, and Ly·saʹni·as was district ruler of Ab·i·leʹne,

23 So the multitude got up, one and all, and led him to Pilate.+

28 Then they led Jesus from Caʹia·phas to the governor’s residence.+ It was now early in the morning. But they themselves did not enter into the governor’s residence, so that they would not get defiled+ but could eat the Passover.

13 The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob,+ the God of our forefathers, has glorified his Servant,+ Jesus,+ whom you handed over+ and disowned before Pilate, even though he had decided to release him.
