14 But in response the presiding officer of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus did the cure on the Sabbath, said to the crowd: “There are six days on which work ought to be done;+ so come and be cured on those days, and not on the Sabbath day.”+

16 Some of the Pharisees then began to say: “This is not a man from God, for he does not observe the Sabbath.”+ Others said: “How can a man who is a sinner perform signs of that sort?”+ So there was a division among them.+
