23 but I see in my body another law warring against the law of my mind+ and leading me captive to sin’s law+ that is in my body.

13 for if you live according to the flesh, you are sure to die; but if you put the practices of the body to death+ by the spirit, you will live.+

16 But I say, Keep walking by spirit+ and you will carry out no fleshly desire at all.+ 17 For the flesh is against the spirit in its desire, and the spirit against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you do not do the very things you want to do.+

24 Moreover, those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed to the stake the flesh together with its passions and desires.+
