SHELOMITH

(She·loʹmith) [from a root that means “peace”].

1. A Danite daughter of Dibri whose son by an Egyptian was put to death in the wilderness for abusing Jehovah’s name.​—Le 24:10-14, 23.

2. A Kohathite Levite of the family of Izhar; also called Shelomoth.​—1Ch 23:12, 18; 24:22.

3. A Levite descendant of Moses’ son Eliezer; also called Shelomoth.​—1Ch 26:25-28.

4. Son of Judean King Rehoboam by his favorite wife Maacah; brother of King Abijah.​—2Ch 11:20-23; 12:16.

5. Daughter of Governor Zerubbabel.​—1Ch 3:19.

6. Son of Josiphiah and head of the paternal house of Bani. Shelomith, accompanied by 160 males, came to Jerusalem with Ezra.​—Ezr 8:1, 10.
