“To your gods.” Lit., “to your tents.” Heb., leʼo·ha·leyʹkha. One of the Eighteen Emendations of the Sopherim. The original Heb. text is alleged to have read leʼ·lo·heyʹkha (from ʼelo·himʹ, “gods” or “God”), but by transposing l and h, the second and third consonants of the Heb. word ʼelo·himʹ, the Sopherim made M read “tents.” See App 2B.
