They refuse to become a part of this world, just as Jesus Christ refused to do so. Properly, then, the Witnesses should be expected to keep peace within their own congregations, dwelling together like brothers. (Ps. 133) Figuratively speaking, they sit, each one “under his own vine and under his own fig tree,” in security, like the Israelites during the 40-year-long peaceful reign of King Solomon, son of David.
