In this first article, we will consider 2 Peter chapter 1.

After his departure in death, Peter’s spiritual brothers and sisters could bolster their faith by recalling his words.​—2 Peter 1:12-15.

So I will do my utmost also at every time that, after my departure, you may be able to make mention of these things for yourselves.” (2 Pet. 1:12-15)

Because of what Peter’s Master, the Lord Jesus Christ, had told him, Peter himself did not expect to live to see that blessed day on earth. (John 21:18, 19; 2 Pet. 1:13-15)

2, 3. Explain why Peter said he was not following “artfully contrived false stories”.
