“Ponder over these things; be absorbed in them, that your advancement may be manifest to all persons.”​—1 TIM. 4:15.

Yet, in the same letter, Paul exhorted Timothy to ‘make his advancement manifest to all persons.’ (1 Tim. 4:15)

He had in mind “the law of the Christ,” also called “the law of faith” and “the law of a free people.” (Gal. 6:2; Rom. 3:27; Jas. 2:12)

Yes, if we want the law of freedom to affect our mind and heart, we must do our part by diligently studying the Bible and prayerfully meditating on what we read.​—1 Tim. 4:15.

“Ponder over these things; be absorbed in them, so that your advancement may be plainly seen by all people.”​—1 TIM. 4:15.

Yet, Paul encouraged him to keep making spiritual advancement. (Read 1 Timothy 4:12-16.)
