26 Twenty-two years old was A·ha·ziʹah when he began to reign, and for one year he reigned in Jerusalem.+ And his mother’s name was Ath·a·liʹah+ the granddaughter* of Omʹri+ the king of Israel.
20 And all the people of the land continued to rejoice;+ and the city, for its part, had no disturbance, and Ath·a·liʹah herself they had put to death with the sword at the king’s house.*+
6 And he went on walking in the way of the kings of Israel,+ just as those of the house of Aʹhab had done; for Aʹhab’s own daughter had become his wife,+ and he continued to do what was bad in Jehovah’s eyes.+
10 As regards Ath·a·liʹah+ the mother of A·ha·ziʹah, she saw that her son had died. So she rose up and destroyed all the royal offspring of the house of Judah.+
7 For as regards Ath·a·liʹah the wicked woman, her sons+ themselves had broken into the house of the [true] God,+ and even all the holy+ things of the house of Jehovah they had rendered up to the Baʹals.”+
