14 Now this is what the sons of Israel took as a hereditary possession in the land of Caʹnaan,+ which El·e·aʹzar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel caused them to inherit.+

2 And these were the sons of the jurisdictional district*+ that went up out of the captivity of the exiled+ people whom Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar the king of Babylon had taken into exile+ at Babylon and who later returned+ to Jerusalem and Judah,+ each one to his own city;

15 but: “As Jehovah is alive who brought the sons of Israel up out of the land of the north and out of all the lands to which he had dispersed them!” and I shall certainly bring them back to their soil, which I gave to their forefathers.’+

44 “‘With money people will buy fields themselves, and there will be a recording in the deed+ and a sealing and a taking of witnesses+ in the land of Benjamin+ and in the surroundings of Jerusalem+ and in the cities of Judah+ and in the cities of the mountainous region and in the cities of the lowland*+ and in the cities of the south,*+ because I shall bring back their captives,’+ is the utterance of Jehovah.”

42 “‘And YOU people will have to know that I am Jehovah,+ when I bring YOU onto the soil of Israel,+ into the land that I lifted up my hand [in an oath] to give to YOUR forefathers.
