5 “‘All the days of the vow of his Naziriteship no razor should pass over his head.+ He is to remain holy by letting the hair of his head grow until the days of his being set apart to Jehovah are completed.

5 Look! You will conceive and give birth to a son, and no razor should touch his head,+ because the child will be a Nazʹi·rite of God from birth,* and he will take the lead in saving Israel out of the hand of the Phi·lisʹtines.”+

7 But he said to me, ‘Look! You will conceive and give birth to a son. Now do not drink wine or anything alcoholic, and do not eat anything unclean, because the child will be a Nazʹi·rite of God from birth* until the day of his death.’”
