13 For all, the Prophets and the Law, prophesied until John;+ 14 and if you are willing to accept it, he is ‘E·liʹjah who is to come.’+

11 And they began to question him, saying: “Why do the scribes say that E·liʹjah+ must come first?”+ 12 He said to them: “E·liʹjah does come first and restore all things;+ but how is it that it is written about the Son of man that he must undergo many sufferings+ and be treated with contempt?+
