22 It was while they were gathered together in Galʹi·lee that Jesus said to them: “The Son of man is going to be betrayed into men’s hands,+ 23 and they will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised up.”+ And they were very much grieved.

31 For he was teaching his disciples and telling them: “The Son of man is going to be betrayed into men’s hands, and they will kill him,+ but despite being killed, he will rise three days later.”+ 32 However, they did not understand his statement, and they were afraid to question him.

31 Then he took the Twelve aside and said to them: “Look! We are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things written by means of the prophets about the Son of man will be accomplished.*+ 32 For instance, he will be handed over to men of the nations+ and will be mocked+ and treated insolently and spat on.+ 33 And after scourging him, they will kill him,+ but on the third day he will rise.”+
