    • 20 εἰ If γὰρ for ἀποφυγόντες having fled from τὰ the μιάσματα defilements τοῦ of the κόσμου world ἐν in ἐπιγνώσει accurate knowledge τοῦ of the κυρίου Lord καὶ and σωτῆρος Savior Ἰησοῦ of Jesus Χριστοῦ Christ τούτοις to these (things) δὲ but πάλιν again ἐμπλακέντες having been inwoven ἡττῶνται, they are being made less, γέγονεν it has become αὐτοῖς to them τὰ the ἔσχατα last (things) χείρονα worse τῶν of the πρώτων. first (things).
