⁸ Those in the Jewish sheepfold who responded to the leading of the Law covenant accepted Jesus as the Messiah when John the Baptizer as “doorkeeper” introduced him. They proved to be Jesus’ “own sheep,” and he led them to a new figurative sheepfold, or pen, belonging to Jehovah.

The doorkeeper opens to this one, and the sheep listen to his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
