14. Why should we be forgiving?

¹⁴ God’s declaration to Moses should also motivate us to be forgiving, for Jehovah is ready to forgive. (Matthew 6:14, 15) Of course, Jehovah does bring punishment upon unrepentant sinners. We must therefore uphold his standards of goodness when it comes to maintaining the spiritual cleanness of the congregation.—Leviticus 5:1; 1 Corinthians 5:11, 12; 1 Timothy 5:22.
