For the creation was subjected to futility, not by its own will but through him that subjected it, on the basis of hope

Romans 8:14-21; 2 Timothy 2:10-12.

¹³ Through Adam’s sin, all his descendants were “subjected to futility,” being born in bondage to sin and death. They have been unable to free themselves from such bondage. (Psalm 49:7; Romans 5:12, 21) Oh, how the other sheep long to be “set free from enslavement to corruption”! But before that happens, certain things must occur according to Jehovah’s times and seasons.
