But what about the Bible’s statement at Ecclesiastes 3:1, 2?

It says: “For everything there is an appointed time, even a time for every affair under the heavens.” (Eccl. 3:1-8)

Jehovah God has a time for every purpose of his. (Eccl. 3:1-8)

Most appropriate is the inspired counsel: “For everything there is an appointed time, even a time for every affair under the heavens: . . . a time to keep quiet and a time to speak.” (Eccl. 3:1-7)

He then elaborated on Ecclesiastes 5:2-7, where Solomon stresses the obligation to keep a vow, noting that a vow is something voluntary.

The words of wise King Solomon, “two are better than one,” can well be applied to marriage.​—Gen. 2:18, 24; Eccl. 4:9.

It is as we read: “A threefold cord cannot quickly be torn in two.” (Eccl. 4:12)

As the one dies, so the other dies.”​—Eccl. 3:19.

It includes the body and the spirit of life.​—Eccl. 3:21; 12:7.

At Ecclesiastes 3:1-4, we learn that there is “an appointed time . . . to laugh” and “a time to skip about.”

They do not possess immortal souls or the supernatural powers attributed to them by the ancient Haida storytellers.​—Leviticus 24:17, 18; Ecclesiastes 3:18-21; Ezekiel 18:4, 20.

Moreover, if two lie down together, they also will certainly get warm; but how can just one keep warm?” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-11)

The best thing that I myself have seen . . . is that one should eat and drink and see good for all his hard work . . . for that is his portion.”​—Ecclesiastes 5:18.

“A mere lover of silver will not be satisfied with silver, neither any lover of wealth with income.” (Ecclesiastes 5:10)

The Bible well states a principle that should guide us, when it says: “There is an appointed time . . . for every affair under the heavens: . . . a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to wail and a time to skip about.”​—Eccl. 3:1-4.

Ecclesiastes 4:9, 10 says: “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their hard work.

Eventually such a person may come to wonder: “For whom am I working hard and causing my soul to lack in good things?” (Ecclesiastes 4:8)

It is the gift of God.” (Ecclesiastes 3:13)

Do not allow your mouth to cause your flesh to sin, neither say before the angel that it was a mistake.”​—Ecclesiastes 5:5, 6.

As for humans, Ecclesiastes 3:1 says: “For everything there is an appointed time, even a time for every affair under the heavens.”

That includes, according to the subsequent verses Ec 3:4, 8, a time to laugh, a time to skip about, a time to embrace, and a time to love.

It is better to have only a little, with peace of mind, than be busy all the time with both hands, trying to catch the wind.”​—Ecclesiastes 4:4-6, Today’s English Version.

Ecclesiastes 3:19-21: “They all draw the same breath.

“The stupid one is folding his hands [in refusal to work] and is eating his own flesh.” (Eccl. 4:5)

“Better is a handful of rest,” says the inspired penman, “than a double handful of hard work and striving after the wind.”—Eccl. 4:6.

For instance, my attention was drawn to Ecclesiastes 3:19-21.

Or, “because of abundance of occupation there are dreams.”​—Eccl. 5:7, 12.

“The gift of God” is for a man to “see good” for his lifetime of hard work, the Bible tells us. (Eccl. 3:12, 13; 5:18)
