In Romans chapter 8, the apostle Paul commented on God’s dealings with spirit-anointed Christians.

For we were saved in this hope.”​—Rom. 8:19-24.

The apostle Paul, who penned those words in Romans 8:15-17, classified himself among those “sons of God.”

There are still some on earth who are “in union with Christ Jesus” and have the witness of God’s spirit of being ‘God’s spirit-begotten children’ and “joint heirs with Christ.” (Rom. 8:1, 14-17)

How that spirit operates with those chosen by God as prospective members of the “little flock,” quickening within them a heavenly hope, is explained at Romans 8:14-17.

Paul, at Romans 8:14-17, tells of this evidence, saying that “all who are led by God’s spirit, these are God’s sons.

Not only that, but we ourselves also who have the first fruits, namely, the spirit, yes, we ourselves groan within ourselves, while we are earnestly waiting for [the final] adoption as sons, the release from our bodies by ransom.”​—Rom. 8:19-23.

If, then, we are children, we are also heirs: heirs indeed of God, but joint heirs with Christ, provided we suffer together that we may also be glorified together.” (Romans 8:15-17)

On the basis of Romans 8:15-17, how would you say that the spirit bears witness with those who are Christ’s joint heirs?

A few of us have experienced an anointing by holy spirit and adoption into God’s family as heavenly joint heirs with Christ. (Romans 8:15-23)

22. How have a select group of humans benefited from the unsurpassed love of God?

²² By exercising faith in this unsurpassed act of love on the part of the Greater Abraham, Jehovah God, a select group of humans have been declared righteous as sons of God. (Romans 5:1; 8:15-17)

To receive that reward, they would have to die as humans. (Romans 8:14-23; 1 Corinthians 15:36-50)

If money “led astray” some of them, how great the danger is for us!​—2 Corinthians 5:5; Romans 8:17, 23.

In fact, if we are faithful to him, nothing can separate us from his love that is through Jesus. (Romans 8:1-39)

Yes, God’s love is so strong that no power in heaven or on earth, past or future, can separate us from that love. (Chapter 8)

Only those partook who had a firm conviction that God was individually dealing with them as spiritual sons and who therefore had a sure hope of a heavenly destiny.—Rom. 8:15-25.
